Weekend In VT

Fished my favorite Vermont largemouth pond a couple days in a row with some very satisfactory results.
Day 1: fished from shore for 3 1/2 hours in the northwest area of the pond, I noticed a lot of fish stacked in a shallow cove so I began throwing a senko at em'. Caught a lil' dink on the first cast, then I hooked up on a nice 2 lber hanging out right along a bank a bit later. I then noticed the wake of a larger fish feeding almost right in front of me at the end of the cove so I tossed in the senko, let it sit for a minute, then I ever so gently lifted it maybe a foot off the bottom and the fish immediately killed it. Nice bass in the 3lb range. Caught several more fish around a pound and then called it a day.
Day 2: Went back to the same pond, this time with the canoe and some friends of mine. Started along the middle west shoreline where I hooked up on a small bass which was able to get away. Then we worked our way up to the very northwestern cove where there are some nice steep banks. I got a pounder off the western bank of the cove, then a little further down I hooked up on what I think may be my personal best Largemouth, again on the west side of the cove. The fish was sitting in about two feet of water, and as soon as my senko dropped in the water, I saw the wake of the fish moving towards it. Soon as I set the hook I knew it was a big fish because it started pulling out drag, which was set really tight (almost 0). We finally saw the beast jump, and we're all like "holy s***", real whopper of a fish. after a ferocious battle, the fish was finally spent and I lipped him and snapped a few shots and then sent larry on his merry way. I need to get a damn scale, but my guess is that the fish was somewhere in the 5 pound + range, but I could be completely off. After that, I decided to guide my friends in hopes that I could get them some nice fish. It was my friends first time using a senko and of course he was a bit skeptical. I taught him the technique and, sure enough he brought a nice 3 pound + to the boat in no time. I think he may be sold now! lol.
Great couple days fishing in VT.
