Fishing Rods

nothin flashy since my rods take a pounding, i never spend much on them.(50$ max)...right now i hsve a silstar medium action, a medium action lightning rod, a st.croix UL, a tica heavy action and a Trophy Striper heavy action rod made by a small company i found at the expo 2 years back. its proven to be extremely reliable.

Fishing Reels

i use okuma and penn reels mostly. anything with a drag that can handle braid, as ive always hated mono..the memory,,the texture.. the fact it wears out every year.. the invention of braid made fishing far more enjoyable for me

Fishing Techniques

generally i fish from shore. i do have an inflatable raft, but i dont use it all the time. i usually change my technique depending on what im fishing for and where im fishing, but my usual starting approach is finesse fishing minnowbaits like fin-s fish and soft stickbaits like senkos.

Favorite Fishing Spot

probably Scoville Reservoir.. its the place i go the most often, cuz its right around the corner.. but it certainly isn't the best...not anymore...

at the end of march ill begin targeting bowfin at scoville reservoir again. by starting earlier, i may avoid the horrible weed problem i encounter in late spring /summer. anyone interested in catching a prehistoric relic with ridiculous strength is welcome to join me.

Planning on hitting the lower housatonic once spring starts. ive never had a successful striper fishing trip., mostly because i dont know when or where to go. im teaming up with a buddy of mine who says he knows exactly when we need to get there. Anyone who wants to join me or plan another trip with me, please let me know!
